Our after-school enrichment science program introduces kids to an array of scientific experiments and concepts with fun hands-on activities. Our curriculum is designed for kids ages 6 – 12 years old and based on ideals practiced in life skills programming.
Programs run in eight-week sessions throughout the school year.
Spring 2022 – Food Science
Tuesdays – April 12 – June 7th, 2022
Wednesdays – April 13 – June 8th, 2022
Did you know that you can power an electrical circuit with soil? Turn milk into plastic? Or use turmeric as an acid-base indicator? This spring, join us as we explore the scientific properties of everyday foods, turning some of our formulas into yummy edible recipes.
Learn about polymers by experimenting with chewing gum, measure the sugar content of fruit juice using a Brix refractometer and program a fruit piano with a Makey-Makey and Scratch.
Learn about STEM trailblazers Aviva Presser Aiden, Nzambi Matee, and Anna Bullus.
Of course, we will do lots of fun experiments! Be prepared to get messy!
In-person classes are limited to 4 – 6 kids.
