Earth Science Workshop
September 21 @ 8:45 am – 3:15 pm EDT
If you could slice earth in half, you’d see it has four main layers with the hottest, heaviest stuff at the centre. We live on the crust, the earth’s outermost and thinnest layer. It’s impossible to drill to the centre of the earth, so how do we know this? Scientists use the speed of seismic waves and how they travel during and after an earthquake.
In this workshop, we will learn about STEM trailblazer Dr. Inge Lehmann, make a 3-d model of the earth’s layers, and break a geode!
COVID Measures will be in place for this in-person workshop. It will be limited to small groups of 4-6 people. Please review our COVID Waiver before registering.
All materials included.
