August 8, 2022 @ 9:00 am – August 12, 2022 @ 3:30 pm EDT

How can you tell the difference between a moth and a butterfly?  Are earthworms insects?  What is a pollinator, why are they so important?

This week kids will start a bug collection by preparing a butterfly specimen, collecting bugs with a homemade bug aspirator and learning how to use a pocket microscope.  We will be learning about inspirational STEM trailblazers; Maria Sibylla Merian, Dr. Margaret James Strickland Collins and Rachael E Bonoan.

Maria Sybilla Merian, the Mother of Entomology
Dr. Margaret James Strickland Collins, Entomologist
Rachael E. Bonoan, Assistant Biology Professor

Registration opens Tuesday February 15th, 2021 @ 7am.
